SMS Text News announces unlimited free drinks event
It’s about time SMS Text News:
a) Thanked you all for reading by way of copious, unlimited drinks
b) Offered a physical opportunity for you to connect with other SMS Text News readers and the team here
I think quite a lot of good business and contacts could be exchanged as a result.
I am negotiating with a number of venues in London, UK, to hold a get together sometime in August. I thought it would be quiet at this time — and whilst a few folk are inevitably going to be on holiday — I reckon it would be a good time to host it.
There’s nothing worse than going along to an event and finding you’re talking with absolute weirdos.
Ergo, in order to keep the quality high, I plan on issuing +2 invitations. That is, you get an invitation, plus you can bring along two other people that you rate who are connected with mobile.
I need to get an idea of numbers though so I can budget just how much I need to have clear on a credit card.

UNLIMITED DRINKS FAIR USE POLICY

The SMS Text News Unlimited Drinks plan is subject to SMS Text News’ fair usage policy. This means that a networker’s UK drinks usage must not exceed 1 pint per networker in a calendar month. We don’t expect customers to exceed this limit but if a customer’s usage is in excess of 1 pint we may ask them to moderate their usage. If a customer fails to do so, we reserve the right to move them to another billing plan or charge them for the excess usage at 125% of SMS Text News standard rates. Long-term or persistent usage in excess of the limit may also result in suspension or termination of the service.
Heh. In practice, I intend having an free bar, but I get quite a lot of pleasure out of the irony.
