Suicide linked, stupidly, to text

Fr Young said he had seen a big increase in the number of suicides in the 14-20 age group- ‘and many of them were the result of text messaging’
It would be far better, he added, if young people involved in personal rows met to sort out their problems.
This isn’t very helpful at all. The article actually points out that two youngsters ("big increase?") who killed themselves had recently found out their relationships had ended (via text).
By this reckoning, we should ban paper, pens, speech and any other form of communication which might, possibly, be used to transmit a message, which someone then apparently uses as the trigger to kill themselves.
