Teen murdered protecting brother's BlackBerry
Ah dear. Operating in our mobile industry bubble, it’s so easy to forget just how valuable a handset can be perceived on the street.
Last month, I wrote about a chap being mugged (and subsequently murdered) for his iPhone. At that point I wrote no handset is worth dying for. I recognise, though, that it’s not that simple in the heat of the moment, especially when a mobile handset is typically one of the most valuable possessions that a teenager might have with them.
It’s not just about the face value of the device though.
Another tragic, tragic story. The Telegraph has more details:
A teenage schoolboy was stabbed to death by a gang while “selflessly” trying to protect his younger brother [during fight over BlackBerry], his family said today.
