The 361 Degrees Podcast is off to London Book Fair this Wednesday

This Wednesday afternoon the 361 Degrees Podcast arrives at London Book Fair. Ben and I are going to be on site recording a special supplemental series of mobile-focused podcasts with the great and the good.

London Book Fair is one of the world’s largest content rights fairs and it’s precisely where we need to be to track what’s going on in the ebooks-n-mobile marketplace. I was at the event today (and the dedicated Digital Conference yesterday) and I reckon it’s fair to say that the word ‘mobile’ was included in more or less every second or third spoken paragraph!

Only today, Allan Lau co-founder of Wattpad, was on stage discussing the on-going trend of smartphone adoption, pointing out that in the next few years, well over 4 billion people will be using internet-enabled devices capable of reading ebooks. What will the market be offering them? How will the market change to enable this? And will the ‘big’ established publishers be able to handle the pace of change?

We’ll be bringing you a series of discussions with some of the leading lights in the content industry. I’m hoping we’ll be able to get some handset manufacturers, service providers, app developers and maybe even some publishers involved.

If you’d like to be interviewed, we’ve got some interview slots available. We’re aiming to do the recording at London Book Fair on Wednesday afternoon so you’d need to be there physically to do the recording. If you’re not already registered to attend, I think we can sort that out for you. Drop me a note on ewan@mobileindustryreview.com right-away. (We’re happy to here from PR representatives too!)

Sadly Mr Blandford of All About Symbian and All About Windows Phone cannot be with us for this mini-series. He is on special assignment this week at an undisclosed location. So it’ll be myself and Ben Smith of Wireless Worker leading the way.

(Blandford should be back with us next week)
