The Cloud's £9.99 unlimited wifi for your Nokia N95
I was browsing The Cloud’s site yesterday and came across this offer. I’m sure I’ve read about it before, however I hadn’t actually seen-it-in-the-flesh as it were.
What’s rather exciting is you get a 30-day free trial to check it out. So if you’ve just got yourself a brand spanking new Nokia N95 here in the UK, it’s worth a shot.
£9.99 a month gets you unlimited wifi for your Nokia N95 at any one of their 7,000 hotspots. Think railway stations, airports, pubs, City of London and so on.
‘How does it work for just the N95?’ I thought, ‘And do you have to arse about signing in every time you want to get a connection?’
Well, all is revealed in the small text underneath the sign-up option.
Registering the N95 MAC Address
In order for your device to work on The Cloud Network you have to register the phone’s MAC address. The MAC address format is 12 characters separated either by colons or dashes (eg, 00:00:00:00:00:00 or 00-00-00-00-00-00). MAC addresses can be made up of a combination of numbers 0-9 and letters A-F. Please note do not use the Bluetooth MAC address.Finding the MAC Address
The MAC address can be found by entering *#62209526# on the keypad, when in standby mode
Ah hah. Well. Now I know.
The only slight issue I have? It’s 11.99 a month if you want to use it with your laptop. Although you could probably use the N95 as the modem if you wanted to connect.
