Three Brand suffering difficulties
Originally uploaded by ew4n.

When Hutchison Whampoa purchased Superdrug via the Asian retailer Watson’s (which they also own), I thought it was a rather wicked way of getting their Three mobile network an immediate presence on the British High Street, since Superdrug has stores all over the country and in almost every High Street.

One such High Street is Billericay, Essex — where I was today. As per the previous blog, I walked past the store and saw the point-of-sale.

Shocking.

The store manager woke up this morning, got into work, opened up the store’s front doors and dragged this shitty point-of-sale out by the front door.

The store manager is clearly having a very bad day. Every day.

Has NO ONE thought to replace this stuff? Look! It’s ripped, torn, aged, … and every single person walking by the store is seeing that brand image.

Behind the headlines and fancy press releases (e.g. “Three launches in X hundred Superdrug stores”), there’s the reality.

Deary me.
