Three's X-Series's unlimited data = proper & proven!
I got my Three bill for last month. I was a little nervous opening up the envelope just in case something had gone massively wrong with my interpretation of unlimited data!
Moment of truth, eh? š
Despite the many comments and clarifications posted by Three, most notably on their X-Series blog, quite a few people, and to be honest, me included, were still a little suspect.
For example, I recall someone rather accurately pointing out that the Three marketing said X-Series offered ‘unlimited web browsing’ (or words to that effect) and not unlimited data. I remember a mini debate around whether this was deliberate legalese or if it was simply a consumer friendly phrase.
Well, I can conclusively report that I used up 73 meg of data sending photos from ShoZu, browsing the web and whatnot on my Three handset last month. The image above shows my usage. Look at that, on one day I sent 28 meg! Geez. That’d be expensive if I was a Vodafone normob wouldn’t it?
Anyway, key point: Note the 73 meg, Ā£0.00 bit. Excellent.
If you were slightly hesitant about Three because of that issue, do reconsider. Nearly all of my data usage has been via third party installed applications.
Very exciting.
I’ve swapped to using my N93 on Three a lot more now, but I swap back to the N73 when I want to make use of a lot of the X-Series applications like Skype and Mobilcast.
Ding dong the Data Witch is dead!
