My Top 7 Apps: Peter Cox from PerceptionTV Ltd

We have another Top 7 apps list. This list is from Peter Cox, Director of Marketing at PerceptionTV Ltd.

Perception TV Ltd has developed an IPTV/OTT cloud-based multiscreen Perception™ platform that integrates live TV, catch-up TV, video-on-demand and cloud-based PVR recording into one user-interface. It works on set top boxes, Smart TVs, PCs, tablets and smartphones, supporting iOS and Android and is designed for Telcos, ISPs and content aggregators that require a commercially flexible and rapidly deployable solution.

Peter uses the iPhone 6. Let’s get on with his list…

Plex – This does for Video-on-Demand (VoD), what VoD could never do on its own – organises all your media whether stored or online, in once nicely designed and easy to use interface. You can then stream your music and movie to any device like your smartphone, tablet and TV from your PC.

TuneIn Radio – This reinvents global radio as a very strong content choice on your mobile with over 100,000 radio stations and four million podcasts at your disposal. The thrill of discovering a new station still hasn’t diminished.

Expensify – This app removes the horror of getting back from an international trip and realising half your receipts are missing! Just photograph your receipt, let the app ‘SmartScan’ the information and it creates an expense report for you to email to the boss! Indispensable!

Moonpig – I travel a lot on business and it is sometimes hard to keep track of family and friend’s birthdays and anniversaries. When I don’t have time to buy and post a card I turn to Moonpig. It is easy to personalise cards and Moonpig has saved my bacon on more than one occasion.

Beamly – Strong recommendation is key for TV going forward and social TV apps Beamly is great for discovering new programme through like-minded watchers.

Skype – An obvious choice but they become essential for a reason. It is still the best cross platform mobile conferencing app going.

Dropbox – Like Skype, Dropbox is another app staple for any business person who is always on the move. Without question the best cloud services app to date, an invaluable storage and sharing app.

Thanks to Peter for this list. A few of my favourites here; Dropbox, Skype, TuneIn Radio and Moonpig. I will have a look at Beamly!
