Traffic.com and Skyward Mobile Announce Traffic.com2Go Mobile App
Traffic.com and Skyward Mobile were out and about at the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas this week showing off their latest application, a joint-effort dubbed Traffic.com2Go. This java app is available for direct download from the Traffic.com website, and for $3/month gives you live traffic updates and a whole lot more.
The Traffic.com2GO application automatically refreshes its information and also keeps track of your most often checked routes, so that you don’t have to search for them each time, making navigation a snap. They have also integrated JamCast audio traffic reports, as well as Traffic.com’s JamFactor color-coded congestion metrics, so that you can easily glance to see how bad that wreck really is.
Traffic.com is owned by Navteq, and they’re extremely excited to be able to offer this application that is compatible with most handsets. There’s even a 30-day trial period to get you acquainted with it.
Traffic updates are something that I could see a huge market in, and I’ve yet to see a really usable solution for mobile phones, so perhaps Traffic.com2GO is it.
