Twittering happily with more changes
I have a thing for updates. I like to see quick and regular updates to software and services. It makes me feel like things are alive, happening and moving. It gives me pleasure to download the latest update or addition to things because inherent in the action is the underlying fact that someone, somewhere is tending to the service, listening to feedback and wanting to develop it and move it to the next stage.
Witness Twitter.
Look at this raft of wicked changes:
* One Line Bio: Now you can add a short blurb of info about yourself to your Twitter page.
* Auto Nudging: If you want Twitter to automatically nudge you if you haven’t updated in 24 hours, go to Settings > Notifications and check the Nudge me box.
* Favorites: When you come across a Twitter update that you really like you can save it by clicking the little star.
* Delete: If you decide you didn’t like that late-night Twitter you can go ahead and delete it.
* Top 10: Now that we have a way for people to pick favorites we can put together fun pages like the Top 10 Favorite Twitters: http://twitter.com/favourings/top10
* Messages: You can get direct messages from other Twitter users that you have designated as “Friend.” These are not updates, they are notes meant just for you.
* Timestamps: After 24 hours Twitter now assigns a more formal time stamp to your update with the time, date, and year.
* User Search: Search by name, email, or phone and if we find the person you’re looking for we will display their profile image for you to click.
Love it, love it. Bring it on.
