After a hectic few days, Sam Sethi and Mike Butcher are back up and running, covering Web 2.0, mobile and new technology firms in Europe. Although we’re based in the UK, we will be covering the explosion of technology innovation happening across Europe right now. Over the coming days and weeks we will be able to say more about some of the things we have planned. Some of that will be announcing new events, partners and sponsors. That’s a bit of an arse for TechCrunch — by not immediately appointing a replacement editorial team to TechCrunch UK, it looks to me like they’ve surrendered Europe.

It wouldn’t take much to move Vecosys — I can already see it growing into a heavily read site — to geographically specific sites such as Vecosys UK, Vecosys USA and so on. They could definitely begin to rival TechCrunch.com itself. The Vecosys chaps have the credibility, the attention — and it seems, the sponsors.
