Vodafone Family launches -- Unlimited calls between four people, £5/month

Vodafone Family is the perfect way to bring the people closest to you even closer. Simply choose up to 3 other people to make up your family group and calls between all of you are unlimited.
Just one of you pays £5 a month and you can make as many calls as you like to each other (up to 60 minutes per call), at any time. It doesn’t matter if you’re a pay as you talk or a pay monthly customer, as long as the four of you are all on Vodafone.
If you need a larger group, no problem – one person can pay £7 for unlimited calls between 6 people.
So whether your daughter needs to let you know that she’s ready to be picked up or your partner rings to let you know they’re running late for dinner – with Vodafone Family it’s easy. More importantly, you’ll never have to worry about your kids not being able to call you because they’ve run out of credit on their mobile.
Finally. They’re getting somewhere. I’ve felt there’s been quite a lot of inertia at Vodafone for a while. It’s been seriously painful looking at their price plans for the last few quarters. Nothing’s changed — seriously NOTHING’s changed since I walked in and bought 2x V800 Sony Ericssons and a Razr (which at that point, was a wickedly exclusive phone).
I was on the top whack price plan. 2 years later, it’s still EXACLTY the same. Now there’s a few modifications. Little goodies — 50% extra mins and whatnot.
But finally, there’s a real good offer to talk about. And it’s impressive. Very impressive.
There’s no strings. No crap. They’ve gone all Ronseal on us — it does what it says on the tin. Quite simply, pay your five quid. Nominate your numbers. Any calls you make to and fro those numbers are free for you and for your friends/family.
So, if dad pays £5 a month and nominates mum and two daughters as his ‘family’, all calls between them are free. Irrespective of what price plan they’re on, whether they’re contract, whatever.
Smart. Compelling. That’s a switcher — something that would potentially convince me to swap to them. Top work Vodafone. And kudos to the team that sorted out the billing sytem to make this happen. Must have been a nightmare!
