Vodafone: Is a flop

Woops, that headline should read ‘Vodafone: Video is a flop’ 😉

Dear me. I really do not know what planet the Vodafone chaps are on.

HELLLOOOOOOOOOO. I can’t quite believe that their management consider this the case.

Vodafone are admitting that video calling has not been a success with
its customers, despite it being one of the main selling points for 3G
phones. Voice and text still remains the predominant use of phones for
communicating, and any video-ing going on is probably destined for the
likes of YouTube.

I really liked this point made in the Mobile Digest article:

They seem unhappy to subsidise 3G handsets any more, because customers aren’t spending enough money on the extra services.

Yup, they’re not spending enough on extra services because the extra services have been dreamed up and marketed by REALLY. BORING. PEOPLE.

And of course, at the wrong price point.

Seriously: Who would I rather buy my entertainment from? Warner Bros? Or Vodafone.
