I popped into the Vodafone shop to ask about a USB modem — and whether or not I could get it on Pay As You Go.

Both assistants looked at each other then said ‘nahhhh’. I nodded silently. I think I already knew that was the answer.

‘But,’ one chipped up, ‘You can probably get it on Pay As You Go on Vodafone site online.’

Helpful. That’s absolute rubbish, you see. You can’t. You need a contract.

I politely explained that, ‘I’ll get one on eBay, thanks.’

Crazy, isn’t it, when you walk into a shop wanting to give’em money and they won’t take it.

Anyway. My attention was caught by the ‘unlimited texts’ deal displayed. I made a mental note to look it up and get more information…
