WalkingHotspot now live and ready to use

I’m pleased to see that WalkingHotSpot is now live. It was back in April that I used the beta version of WalkingHotSpot to post a few blogs using my mobile data connection and my laptop.

I really like the utility of being able to get a WiFi connection from my handset — wherever I am (and as long as I have mobile reception). It’s like carrying a penknife. Or a second laptop battery. Or a backup USB broadband stick. Reassurance.

You know when you absolutely positively have to get an internet connection to your laptop and the WiFi in Starbucks isn’t working? This is when you want a facility like this.

Provided you’ve got a fairly decent Nokia with WiFi capabilities — or some HTC devices — you’ll be able to use it.
