Wayfinder warns motorists of traffic cameras
Now if there’s one thing I don’t like doing, it’s driving into unknown speed camera territory. It’s a total arse when you find yourself on an open road with some cars behind you willing you to go faster and NO speed signs. So you don’t know if you’re free to bomb it along at 60mph or if it’s actually a 30mph. Something you need to know when there’s a camera about to flash you. As the latest release from Wayfinder points out, if you get it wrong, you could find yourself with 9 points on your license in one night.
Wayfinder, the live mobile satellite navigation service that works on mobile phones can help motorists identify where strict speeding regulations are in force. Over 11, 000 speed camera locations, including fixed, mobile, free standing, traffic light and temporary cameras are updated daily onto the live service with a guaranteed 99.9% accuracy of their location. The service is provided to Wayfinder from Cyclops, an authorised supplier of this data who survey all camera sites to confirm their accuracy.
You can download Wayfinder on to your handset and together with a GPS plugged into it, you’ll be able to rest easy.
I was just having a look at the Wayfinder ‘compatibility list‘. It’d probably be more effective if they listed the phones that are NOT compatible — it looks like they’ve got service for almost every decent handset on the market!
You can get your hands on Wayfinder from just €179 including a GPS device! I’ll need to have a look at this.
