What does the industry think of you?

I just did a rather interesting exercise for a company. Their PR approached me because they’re looking to do a ‘reputation audit’. The company in question is wondering what the industry thinks of them.

I gave them my opinion then looked up about 15 different people on MSN, Google, by text and by email who I know read the site and who are in different varied positions in the mobile industry (in the UK, because this company is UK based).

I asked a simple question: “Company name. Know them?” … then I recorded the results — normally one or two sentences.

I then attached the comment to an anonymous description (e.g. “Mobile applications blogger” and “Serial entrepreneur in mobile industry”), collated it and sent it off.

We’re in a good position here at SMS Text News to help out with reputation audits — and obviously we can customise them a lot more than this quick one I did. So if you’d like one yourself, send me an email and we’ll discuss.

Please do add yourselves to my MSN (ewanmacleod@hotmail.com) or Google (ewanmacleod@gmail.com, ewansms@googlemail.com) or Skype (ewanjmacleod) if you’d like to participate in the odd reputation audit for mobile companies.
