World goes nuclear with new mobile game

If you’ve ever wondered what it’d be like in a world after world war three, step this way. Berlin-based mobile games publisher Ojom have just released Shadow Zone – a step-by-step strategy game set in a world decimated by thermo-nuclear fallout. Collect rare artifacts, grapple with mutated creatures and traverse a forbidden zone to reach its epicentre – The Shelter – and prevent a global disaster.

A battlefield strategy game that involves two sets of warring factions locked in combat, Shadow Zone is also an adventure game with an intricate plot and a compelling storyline. To begin with there is a scavenger hunt in which you must discover and trade mysterious post-nuclear artifacts. These artifacts act as currency to acquire more energy and weapons that will enable you to deal with another aspect of the game – a race against time to reach The Shelter and prevent a nuclear chain reaction before it destroys the planet.

Similar in style to game of ‘dystopian’ chess your job is to deploy squads of ‘Fortune Hunters’ to do battle with the enemy soldiers and a collection of mutated creatures, in order to gain territory and enemy bases across the atomic landscape. You will face the demented enemy soldiers, a fiendish bunch that were driven insane by the radiation, a pack of blind dogs and fishes that walk!

The skirmishes take place once you have lined up your squadron against the enemy. The game then plays out a scenario of how the skirmish will unfold based on your strength versus that of the enemy’s. This depends on the amount of credits and points you’ve amassed so far. If your stocks have been depleted then it is time for you to find more artifacts so that the fight can continue.
