Yahoo's Developer Network, worth a look
I was checking out Alexander Wolfe‘s post on the Yahoo Developer Network (YDN) service today over at InformationWeek. Alexander caught up with Yahoo’s Sophie Major, the programme manager for YDN:
Roaming the show floor at Web 2.0 Expo recently, I was surprised to hear that Yahoo (NSDQ: YHOO) has a story to tell developers every bit as good as Google (NSDQ: GOOG)’s. That’s the message that came through loud and clear — and with a British accent — in my video conversation with Sophie Major, international program manager for the Yahoo Developer Network.
Apart from the confusion about whether Yahoo is an on-going concern (with sword of Balmer/Microsoft hanging over them), Yahoo really is doing some rather smart stuff in mobile. If time permits, you can see Sophie chatting away about the YDN possibilities in the video below:
I’m a fan of innovation and Yahoo are certainly pushing out the updates — Yahoo Go 3.0 is pretty nifty — have you tried it recently? The application doesn’t work for the E90 (perhaps obviously) but if you’ve got a N95 or the like, you’ll be able to get hold of it at http://mobile.yahoo.com.
