Yet another cryptic Vodafone text

Screenshot_2011-05-30_14-43-21

I’ve just landed in Los Angeles on the way to Qualcomm’s Uplinq 2011 event and got this text through from Vodafone. I don’t know who authors these things. I wonder if they are deliberately going out of their way to confuse me. Have a read of this:

Welcome to The USA. Calls cost 135ppm to make & 100ppm to receive. SMS 35p + your home rate. Data costs start from £3 per 1MB per day. Click http://live.vodafone.com/zr/sa1 for free price info or call +441635691700.

It’s all fairly normal until we get to the data costs. What the hell does £3 per 1MB per day mean? What is this ‘per day’ bit? A mistake? Does that mean I will only be charged three quid a day? Or… It’s got to be a mistake? I dunno. Sent from my BlackBerry® wireless device
