Yet another example of iPads being used for self-service

I really never get tired of hearing about the application of iPad technology. I do admit that it’s getting a little bit… repetitive. I am slightly frustrated by the planet’s utter dependence on iPads, especially in terms of service innovation. Whether it’s a pub deploying iPads to allow patrons to order food or a hotel enabling guests to check in, they’re not using Samsung Galaxy Tabs. They’re not using BlackBerry PlayBooks. It’s iPad, iPad, iPad.

I find that a little frustrating. Still. If it’s web-based or point-n-click easy, an iPad is cheap and folk ‘get’ how to use them easily.

So here’s the latest example of iPad service innovation I’ve come across, thanks to the team at Springwise:

Now, the Tennessee Government has introduced the devices to help improve waiting times for those looking to renew their drivers’ licence. Some 72 iPad kiosks have been installed at 26 driver service centers by the state’s Department of Safety and Homeland Security, which will act as self-service stations for drivers whose licences have expired or been lost.
