ZapTXT -- now with Skype support!
Have you checked out ZapTXT recently? I had a note in from Sameer (the man at ZapTXT) to let me know about an update they just released. I use ZapTXT regularly: It’s a wickedly good way of keeping up to date with what’s going on across various sites — in particular I use it to track mobile related stories on digg. Whenever something relevant is found, ZapTXT knocks me over an instant message update complete with the headline, bit of body text and the URL.
I know a lot of people who use Skype religiously — more than they ever use a traditional instant messaging service like MSN or Yahoo — so this update to include Skype support will, I’m sure, be a welcome addition.
Here’s what Sameer said:
Skype users can now combine and filter feed sets and receive ZapTXT alerts via Skype chat. All they need to do is add ZapTXT to their Skype contact list and select Skype from in their IM settings on ZapTXT.com.
Wicked! Top work Sameer 🙂
As an example, ZapTXT recently notified me regarding a BBC story about people being (shortly) able to buy burgers via their handsets in Japan.
