Zeemote unwraps JS1 wireless controller for mobile Lara Croft

If you wish your mobile gaming experience was a little bit more like playing a console, a company called Zeemote might just have the answer. It’s come up with a Bluetooth gizmo called the JS1 which it claims will help mobile game playability. With a tiny thumb-powered joystick and four buttons, Zeemote is pushing the ergonomic device as a less awkward way of gaming with your mobile.

The JS1 is already sparking a fair bit of interest from the games studios, with the likes of Eidos and Sega adapting Lara Croft Tomb Raider and Sonic the Hedgehog respectively for the wireless controller. There’s also a title called Fireworks developed just for the JS1.

And it’s not just the game makers that are on board – Zeemote says it’s in discussions with operators and manufacturers with a view to bundling the controller with games and handsets. You’ve got to hand it to them – it looks like they’ve thought of everything. Clever stuff.
