Zyb.com, one of the best mobile applications on the planet, just received a load of cash from Nordic Venture Partners.

Known for it’s terrific mobile backup service, Zyb will no doubt be using the cash to move at lightspeed. However it’s the services beyond simple backup that I’m interested in. They’ve been making noises about additional services for some time. I think it’s telling that they describe themselves as a ‘mobile backup and sharing service.’

For instance, I really like the concept of being able to share the content on my mobile device(s) with my friends.

Witness this statement:

Tommy Ahlers, CEO and co-founder of ZYB, says ‘Since the full launch of ZYB, users have flocked to the service, partly to make sure they’ll never lose their contacts again, and partly because they want to be able to expand the social capabilities of their mobiles”.

Social capabilities. Mmmm. Bring it on!

Set your sights on Zyb and watch what they come out with. It’s going to be fun.

Meantime, have you backed up your mobile recently? If not, get over to zyb.com, get yourself an account and get your contacts/calendar backed up. It’ll take a few mins.
