Berocca's Blogger Relief Pack has arrived

I think it was Stephen Davies, who runs PR Blogger, who put me on to the Berocca Blogger Relief page. The page begins:

Blogging can be stressful. We live in a world where millions of people read and demand new content from websites every day.

Of course, someone’s got to satisfy this demand and as The New York Times and The Guardian have reported, it can be a pretty hectic job!

So they’ve put together a Blogger Relief Pack — which contains an array of handy items for any tired, flagging blogger. If that’s you, head over to their page and ask them for a relief pack. I did and it arrived yesterday.

Berocca, if you haven’t come across it, is rather smart. It’s a 1000mg Vitamin C shot. You can get different types — most people like their effervescent tablets that you put into a glass of water — but I also have their pills too.

I was first introduced to Berocca by a very kind PR lady back when I was 21 and sprightly. Or, as one chap in The Guardian described me, ‘rangy‘:

MacLeod’s slightly sallow looks and the bags beneath the eyes are testament to a youth spent sitting in front of a computer screen.

Heh. Thank you, David Teather.

The PR lady thrust a pack of Berocca into my hands the next time we met for a briefing and I never looked back. The shot-in-the-arm of Vitamin C from a Berocca tablet is just the ticket when you’re burning the candle at both ends. Or when the candle has melted and you’re running on adrenalin.

I’m particularly impressed at Berocca’s marketing strategy of getting out to the bloggers.

The box arrived and I actually thought it contained two new hard disks that I’d ordered so I was surprised to open it up and see:

I liked the letter that came with it:

Here’s the bag of goodies:

The Bubblewrap Keyring is a piece of genius:

It goes on… and on… and on.

The Panic button is very useful. Not only does it give visitors to your desk/office a bit of a shock when you open up the protective cover and slam the red button, it’s also USB compatible. Plug it in and when you press it, it’ll pop up an image of some spreadsheets on your screen. A useful ‘boss-is-coming’ tool.

An obligatory stress ball:

And a DeadFred pen holder. Heh. It also gets quite a bit of attention:

Rather usefully, they’ve also included a tube of Berocca tablets:

They’ve done some good thinking there at Berocca though. They’ve also included a glass — branded with the Berocca logo — for you to put the tablets in. Smart. I was going to have to use one of those boring mugs that you see in every office the land over. The ones with the faded slightly-but-not-quite-funny messages. (“You don’t have to be mad to work here…”)

It is refreshing to see this kind of smart marketing. Good work Berocca. I’m off to jam myself full of Vitamin C.
