Come on Bixby
I have been trying, Samsung. I really have.
Given Bixby – the Samsung ‘AI’ – is preinstalled by default on my new device I have been trying to give it a bit of time.
I used it now and again on the Note 10. I thought I should try and get properly introduced with the arrival of my new Note 20.
But.
Yeah, not really.
“Hi Bixby, remind me to do Freddie’s spellings tomorrow at 7am,” is what I asked.
Bixby then told me – perhaps somewhat presciently – that all is not lost and that, yes, live is worth living.
I think this is particularly helpful for those who are in need.
It’s not that useful in the context of reminding me to check my son’s spellings ahead of his test this week.
I tried it again.
Same result.
I tried asking differently.
Same result.
Bixby is determined that I should seek help. It’s laudable, it really is.
Just… not that helpful for my specific use case.
In the end, I used Google Assistant.
I’ll persevere with Bixby though.
