Three wins 'best 3g operator' award

Link: 3UK Wins Best 3G Operator at Mobile Choice Awards

3UK, the mobile media company was last night awarded two top honours at the 2006 Mobile Choice Consumer Awards in London. Beating off stiff competition the mobile media company was set apart from competitors such as Vodafone, O2 and Orange after scooping the awards for Best 3G Operator and Best Internet Service.

This looks like a bit of a love-in. I still have mahhhussssive issues with Three. Congratulations to them on winning the award though!

Lucky I wasn’t at the award ceremony. I think I’d have been sat at the back with a huge scowl on my face the whole evening, unless there were any doughballs or sausage rolls being passed around.

For every ‘well done, here’s your best internet service’ award, there’s a whole reem of problems, issues and downright-stupid-business-practices that need fixed.

I don’t think the industry can afford to sit and congratulate itself for billing me 36 pence a minute for a sodding phone call after I’ve used up my inclusive minutes (working out at roughly 6p a minute). Fair enough they’re managing to rip the cash out of their customers every day — that has to be admired, in a del-boy ‘down-the-market’ manner. It isn’t good business though.
